As we begin a new school year, we’re also closing a very special chapter in the Blackburn Admissions Office. It’s time to say goodbye (for now!) to two incredible seniors—Grace and Peyton—who have been a core part of our team for the past three years.

Peyton has been the friendly face behind coordinating campus visits, making sure every tour ran smoothly and every visitor felt at home. Grace has brought our story to life through social media, sharing the heart of Blackburn with students near and far.

Both are majoring in Elementary Education, and now they’re taking their next steps into the classrooms they’ve dreamed about. This fall, Grace will begin student teaching in a 1st grade classroom, and Peyton has accepted her very own 1st grade teaching position—ready to begin her full-time career as an educator!

We are so proud of them both and beyond grateful for the energy, creativity, and kindness they brought to Admissions. Blackburn is better because of you, Grace and Peyton. Your future students are lucky to have you.

If you’ve been on campus recently, you’ve probably noticed some exciting new additions! At Blackburn, we’re always looking for ways to strengthen our connection with the community, so we’re thrilled to give a special thanks to JT and Mike Lair, from Widner Welding & Repair, and Garet and Ainsley Gwillim for the incredible work and support they offer. Thanks to them, the Snack Bar now features beautiful new railings and planters, adding both charm and function. We're proud of these features and even prouder of the partnerships that made them possible.
