In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we proudly celebrate Praise Chikezie ’20, recipient of our Thriving Under 30 Award.📚🍎

Praise is a cybersecurity professional and Adjunct Assistant Professor in Austin, Texas. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, a master’s in Industrial Engineering, and a master’s in Cybersecurity, giving her a strong foundation in both technical and strategic problem‑solving. Growing up with a mother who is an educator shaped Praise’s love for learning. From an early age, she witnessed the transformative power of education. That influence guides her work in the classroom, where she makes complex technical concepts practical, accessible, and relevant for students pursuing careers in technology. She believes education should prepare students not only for jobs, but also to think critically about the systems they build and influence. Professionally, she has experience in software engineering and cybersecurity, with interests in risk management, governance, compliance, and ethical security practices, especially how bias in technology affects marginalized communities. Praise is also deeply committed to service and leadership. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and serves as a Vice President of the NCNW Greater Austin Section, leading programs that support empowerment and leadership development for youth and young adults. Through her work in cybersecurity, education, and community leadership, Praise remains dedicated to building secure systems while investing in people and creating long‑term impact.
