Brotherhood Beyond a Lifetime
Masonry speaks often of Brotherhood, but some of its deepest expressions are found in moments of loss.
When a Brother passes, the Masonic funeral service is more than ceremony. It is a final act of respect, remembrance, and gratitude from the men who stood beside him in life. It reminds us that Brotherhood is not only about the time we share together, but also about honoring the life and example of those who came before us.
And our responsibility does not end at the grave.
The widows of our departed Brothers remain part of the Masonic family. Remembering them, supporting them, and continuing to treat them with care and affection is one of the ways we demonstrate that our obligations to one another are meant to endure.
Brotherhood is not measured only by the years men spend together, but by the promises they continue to honor when those years are over.
