Student Veterans Association - UWG Student Veterans Association (SVA), at the University of West Georgia

The purpose of the Student Veterans Association (SVA), at the University of West Georgia, a chapter of the Student Veterans of America, is to provide a social group and support structure to help veterans adjust to and become successful in civilian and college life. The SVA strives to raise awareness in veterans' issues and needs to the campus community and to the University of West Georgia adminis

tration, as well as provide information to veterans about their benefits and governmental policies. Additionally, the SVA promotes community service and volunteerism, organizes social and campus activities, and encourages veterans to become active in the campus life of the University of West Georgia.

Welcome West! The University of West Georgia is proud to announce the naming of Dr. Jon Preston as the University of West Georgia's next provost and senior vice president for academic affairs, effective Dec. 1.

As provost, Preston will serve as our university’s chief academic officer and dean of the faculty. As such, he will be responsible for the formulation and implementation of all academic plans, policies, priorities, and innovations to ensure the university’s curriculum remains vibrant, relevant, rigorous, and meets the highest levels of academic attainment.

We are eager to bring Dr. Preston on board in the next month and connect him across campus and the communities we serve as he begins in his new role.
