The Community Education Department has been appreciative of WJPF Radio for 25 years for their support! Morning News Watch Host Tom Miller has been an avid supporter of the many activities the department has been responsible for including our classes, Civil War Days, and Hunting and Fishing Days. Kids College Camps and other classes are underway at the College this week! It is so nice to see so many students in the buildings enjoying the opportunities offered by the Community Education Department! The Community Education Department has always appreciated the support of WSIL TV3 and Brooke Schlyer for their coverage of events. This morning, Brooke was covering the departments 2021 Kids College Camps. She spoke with Dr. Barry Hancock, Dean of the Community Education Dept, and instructors Dr. Esmarie Boyles-- Birds, Bees and Beasts Camp; Connie Robinson, Stephanie Davis and Casey Buretz- Fun with Hair, Skin and Nails Camp; and Gretchen Cudworth—sm'ART' Camp! Registration Began May 17 for the Summer 2021 Semester!
Important Dates to Remember. . . . .Most classes begin June 7, 2021 but there are a few early and late starts. Registration for summer officially opens in the office and via phone on May 17, 2021, the same day the brochures will be mailed out to every household in the College District. Reminder--Community Education classes will begin the first week of June. The classes will be posted on our website at www.jalc.edu/community-education/ later this week and registration begins May 17. All scheduled John A. Logan College Activities at all College Facilities after 3:30 PM on Wednesday, February 10 have been canceled. Evening classes will operate on a remote schedule. The College will run on a delayed start at 10 AM on Thursday, February 11. The administration will continue to monitor weather conditions and report any changes to the College homepage, local media, official social media, JALC Text, and email. You are encouraged to take your time traveling to and from campus.
