John A. Logan College is committed to providing a safe and secure campus environment. In accordance with the “Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act” (Clery Act) and the “State of Illinois Campus Security Enhancement Act,” John A. Logan College prepares and publishes an Annual Security Report to provide information regarding campus safety and security policies, crime statistics, and resources to current and prospective students and employees.

This report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning crimes reported to Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus JALC-affiliated properties, and on public property adjacent to and accessible from campus. The report also includes campus policies concerning crime prevention, crime reporting, alcohol and drug use, sexual and interpersonal violence, student discipline, and other matters. URGENT UPDATE: Water Main Break Forces JALC to Close Main Campus and Postpone Poshard Poetry Reading and GED Graduation

Due to an unexpected water main break in the City of Carterville, John A. Logan College officials have announced that the main campus in Carterville will be suspending operations, effective at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25.

The Dr. Glenn Poshard Poetry Reading and the GED Graduation Ceremony have been postponed to a later date. In addition to the main campus, JALC Logan Fitness is closed, and 24/7 access is suspended until further notice.

The College is working closely with city officials to monitor the situation and will provide updates as information becomes available. A new date for both events will be announced in the coming days.

REMINDER: Suspended On-Campus Operations Thursday, June 26, Due to Electrical Work

John A. Logan College (JALC) will be closed on Thursday, June 26, 2025, to allow for the installation of a new electrical transformer. As a result, all in-person operations on campus will be suspended.

During this time:

Students in in-person classes should contact their instructor for instructions regarding assignments and remote learning. All College offices will be closed.

Power to the main building on campus will be turned off and is expected to remain off through Friday, June 27.

This scheduled outage is necessary to complete critical electrical infrastructure upgrades and ensure continued reliability and safety on campus.
