Hello everyone! Student Senate has voted on the submissions and the results are ready to be shared.

We thank all who submitted artwork for our contest, and thank everyone who voted on the amazing artworks crafted by students in JALC's district.

We further encourage all to find ways to make the Earth a more sustainable, equal place.

It's time to display and vote for the first JALC Earth Day Art Contest! Posted below are the entries from this year's contest. We encourage everyone to research and learn about Earth Day and its significance, as well as ways that we can all participate to make the Earth a better, more sustainable, and equal place.

The winners will be chosen as follows:
1st Place (Chosen by Student Senate)
2nd Place (Chosen by Student Senate)
3rd Place (Chosen by Student Senate)
People's Choice (the artwork with the most likes)

All likes/reactions will be counted as "one vote" for the People's Choice winner, but shares and comments do not count. Please keep in mind that if you want your family and friends to vote on your submission, they will have to come to the original post (this one) and like your submission. We cannot count the likes on your shared post.

We thank everyone who participated in this competition and the thoughtfulness of the entries. We were truly amazed at the skillfulness and creativity displayed in these pieces.

Keep an eye out on the 27th of April, as we will be declaring the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and People's Choice winners on that day after our Student Senate meeting at 3 o'clock!

Here's some motivation to get to class each day! (Don't worry, we'll be posting reminders throughout the semester.)

Students who end the semester with strong attendance and participation may enter to win a tuition waiver for 6 credit hours for Summer and/or Fall 2021!

To be eligible, students must be enrolled in at least one course this semester, have strong attendance and participation as defined by the instructor, anticipate earning a C or higher in each course, and enroll in at least 6 credit hours for Summer and/or Fall 2021. Registration begins Monday, March 29.

Entry Deadline: Students will email completed entry forms to [email protected] beginning Monday, May 3 through 4pm on Friday, May 14.

If you're a current student who will continue at JALC in fall 2021 and spring 2022, consider running for Student Trustee. It's a great way to serve your fellow students while gaining leadership experience.

Become more involved on campus by becoming a Student Trustee. This is an elected position on the College's Board of Trustees.

This student may make motions and cast advisory votes on major College issues. The Student Trustee serves on the Student Senate and may serve on Board committees. During each semester of service, this student receives a 15-credit hour tuition waiver.

Candidate packets available at President’s Office (A1) beginning Tuesday, January 19. Completed petitions due at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10.
