Morning, everyone! My name is Hope Thomas, and I’m a senior in the Vessel Operations and Technology major here at MMA. I’ll be taking over the Admissions pages for the day to give you all a glimpse of what my cooperative work experience looks like!

In order to fulfill seatime and major requirements, students in the VOT program go on three summer internships with various companies. This summer, I am working with Cooke Aquaculture and I’m based out of Downeast Maine.

We loved our day hosting the students and crew from the Harvey Gamage yesterday!

After student trainees visited Maine Maritime Academy, this shot was taken by the captain of the State of Maine today as Harvey Gamage was sailing out of the harbor! Many trainees decided they want to attend MMA as undergraduates during their visit!
