INTERNSHIP TEAM TAKEOVER

Hi everyone, my name is Imanueli Davetawalu, and I am a sophomore at SUU. I am a political science & sociology major, and I aspire to be a public advocate in policy making. I am an international student from American Samoa, and I enjoy playing the ukulele, and participating in outdoor recreational activities. Over the summer, I was accepted for the Asian Pacific American Advocate (OCA) Summer Internship program, and was placed with the Asian Pacific Islander American Vote(APIAVOTE) Organization, where I spent 10 weeks in Washington DC.. During my internship, I was able to work and learn on civic engagement opportunities and advocacy programs, and I got to further my understanding of policy and advocacy in public service. My internship has probably been the greatest life experience for me, because I was able to network, build my professional & career development, lobby on Capitol Hill, travel for work related events, experience everything the Capital of the nation has to offer, and most importantly, make life long relationships with individuals. Anyways, I know the Leavitt Center is currently offering internships, and I would suggest every student at SUU to apply! Internships are awesome!!

Thanks for sharing Juju! We are so lucky to have you at the Leavitt Center!
