UNI Costume Studio

UNI Costume Studio Connect and follow the UNI Costume Studio! Welcome to the UNI Costume Studio! We create all costuming for the Strayer-Wood Theatre productions.

And we teach sewing skills, and many costume crafts for productions: millinery, mask-making, armor, fabric dye or painting, and whatever comes up at the designers’ inspiration. The studio hours are 1:00 pm-5:00pm Monday through Friday. Check out www.uni.edu/theatre/swt/shows/previous-seasons for great photos of our costumes!

Been a long week of hard work. Packed up my office. Thirty five years st UNI has let be accumulate a lot of class notes and records, teaching aids of handouts and books to utilise and items to be models for drawing exercises, souvenirs from productions, art that inspired me, maskes I had made or were gifts from friends and colleagues, furniture like bookcases and shelving and seating. Lots to take care of.
About forty boxes, seven-ish tote bags, and a large flat file. All at my home now and not at UNI. Thank you Gretchen for doing so much heavy lifting!

Happy New Year from TheatreUNI! We have had a busy year with four amazing mainstage productions: a heartwarming musical - “Gretel! The Musical,” two fantastic plays: “Airness” and “Marian or The True Tale of Robin Hood,” and to round it all off our very own devised piece “POPPED!” Not to mention our 10-minute plays, another devised project in “Timeless Journeys” and student-led production of “God of Carnage!”
We want to thank you all for all the hard work you put into this year, from behind the scenes to on stage, as well as our Friends of TheatreUNI and other donors and community partners. We truly could not have done it without you. Here’s to 2026 and the opportunities it has in store for our department!
