🎉🎂🎉🎂Happy birthday🎂🎉🎂🎉 to the ONE AND ONLY (thankfully, we are not sure we could handle another) Dr. Dave Hochstein!!!!

In celebration, here are a few fun facts about our favorite professor.

1.) Before gaining an interest in psychology, he first set out to travel the country in a food truck that specialized in selling eccentric flavors of sourdough bread. His downfall was that he only sold bread that was the flavor of black licorice.

2.) When asked to give a list of his top 10 favorite students of all time for this list, he just sighed and walked away.

3.) He has had his beard since he was six years old. He has never once shaved it, but he has always kept it trimmed out of fear of being perceived as a wizard wandering around campus.

Congratulations Hannah Dirksen! Hannah just graduated with her B.A. in psychology here at the Lake Campus. She has been a psych club officer for nearly two years, serving as our vice president for the last year.
Hannah will be continuing with her job at Mercer County JFS, which she started at the end of last school year.

We are a little late to the party, but better late than never. Time for individual shout outs for our Spring semester psychology graduates.

Congrats to Joelle De Lisle for completing your B.A. in psychology! Joelle has served as our psych club president since December 2024 while also working as a research assistant in the psychology lab on campus. She will be starting as a full-time enrollment services and admissions advisor at the Lake Campus this summer.

Congratulations to Lake Campus alumnus Brady Wilson, who will be graduating with a masters degree in epidemiology from our Dayton campus.

Brady is a 2019 graduate of the Lake Campus and was the Psychology Club president during his time here.

Congratulations to psych club president and graduating senior Joelle De Lisle. On the day of graduation, the Wright State University Board of Trustees holds their meeting at the Lake Campus. Joelle had the honor of being selected to present her research to the board for their final meeting of the year.

We always try to end the school year on a high note, and we definitely did that this year. The psych club was able to make a donation of $930 to MAV Youth Mentoring with what we raised from our fundraiser. This money will go towards helping this program make a positive impact in the lives of children facing challenges and teaching them to teach their full potential.

Got to love the Wright State University Lake Campus community!
