Last week was a good one for our Culinary Arts students. First, Dr. Alaa Khalil briefly traded her biology lab for the kitchen to teach our students to make dolma during the Middle Eastern portion of our International Foods lessons. Also, our newest students got fully kitted out with their new uniforms and knife rolls and are ready to hit the kitchen. 👩‍🍳🧑‍🍳

One quick snip ✂ and a new chapter begins in the history of Nunez Community College and Plaquemines Parish. Thank you to our partners, Plaquemines Parish School Board Schools, Plaquemines Parish Government and Society of Manufacturing Engineers for accompanying us on this adventure! The Nunez Plaquemines site is officially open!

The mood in Belle Chasse today was jubilant as Nunez and our partners in education, industry and government cut the ribbon on our Plaquemines Parish facility. The event marked the return of Nunez, and higher education of any kind, to Plaquemines since Hurricane Katrina. Chancellor Tinney and the Nunez team were thrilled to be joined by our partners from Plaquemines Parish School Board Schools and Plaquemines Parish Government for the occasion. We also want to thank our partners at Society of Manufacturing Engineers and our many industry supporters for helping to make this invaluable community resource a reality.

The Nunez family was proud to be part of NASA Michoud Assembly Facility's Family Day this past weekend! We like to consider ourselves an extension of the NASA/Michoud/Artemis family, as several graduates of our Aerospace Manufacturing Technology program (the only one of its kind in Louisiana) assembled components for the Artemis II mission this April, and are assembling components for Artemis III in 2027.
