This past Sunday we hosted our annual Theta Hoops in support of CASA! We raised around $14,000 which doubles the amount raised in past years! We are unbelievably happy with the turnout and excited to continue our journey with CASA!! 🤩🏀

Also, a big thank you to our CEAO Mady West🤍Throughout her term she raised a total of $27,000 in 2 semesters! Our ladies are forever grateful for her hard work! Here are some pictures from the event.

Heres a little recap on our semester last year!
Due to the pandemic, theta could not host our annual theta grilled cheese. However, we were able to organize a 5k run that allowed us to stay safe and socially distanced while also having fun and raising money for our local Champaign County CASA! We were able to raise over $13,000 which is enough to sponsor 11 children for a full year!

Looking into the future, we are looking forward to hosting our annual Theta Hoops this fall which is a basketball competition where we shut down Daniel street and set up courts.
We are super excited to continue our journey supporting CASA and giving back to our champaign community!

Attached are some pictures from the 5k!

Hello Alumni of Kappa Alpha Theta!!

My name is Mady West and I am the chief external affairs officer, along with Brooke Benson our Alumni Relations Director! We are so very excited for our modified version of Founder’s Day this year. Although it will look a little different with the pandemic, we are still doing everything we can to make this day special for you guys!

We wanted to send out an email to share our plan for this day. We would love for anyone who wants to send in memories and pictures that remind you of how amazing theta is to be shared with the girls as well as to be posted on our social media platforms to show how amazing our sisterhood holds! We also wanted to have a zoom call with whomever wanted to join with some of the girls to have you all share stories from your time here at UIUC and for the girls to ask questions! The link and time will be attached at the bottom.

Feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns, or even advice on things we could possibly do! I am sad we aren’t able to have our annual brunch, however, this zoom could be a great way to keep in touch with all of you!

Here’s a little message from our president!!

Hi everyone, My name is Hannah and I am the 2021 president for the delta chapter. I would have loved to be able to welcome you in person this year, but as we all know this year has been out of the usual. To bring light to our year, I wanted to share some of the amazing accomplishments and exciting things that have occurred in our chapter.

Over the fall semester we did a virtual fundraiser that raised over $15,000! Along with a fundraising opportunity within the delta chapter by playing virtual games among each other, which raised $2,000 for C.A.S.A!

This years recruitment was a success, all thanks to our Recruitment Director for making rush work virtual. I will say it was different but the house did an amazing job supporting one another when technology was not on our side. We welcomed 40 New members into the Delta chapter! We had some exciting sisterhoods throughout this year, making it to Curtis Apple Orchard in the fall, which seems to be everyone favorite. We had a few virtual ones, we did a virtual shopping sisterhood. The store showed us a bunch of clothes on Zoom and we had the opportunity to purchase any of their website , having 20% of our purchase go to Champaign C.A.S.A! It was fun to get creative with sisterhoods and to see that the chapter was still so willing to spend time together even through zoom!

We have some incredible seniors this year that many have landed jobs that they are very excited to begin! We have some moving all the way to New York and others going to the amazing Windy City. Our seniors have been great to our house and we are so excited for their new lives to begin.

We are excited to hear about all your amazing experiences and be able to share that with our house. I am very exited to see those who can attend the zoom and be able to learn more about what Theta was to you all!

With love,

Hannah Skelton

Please send in your memories and pictures before the 26th of January so I can put something together to share during the zoom meeting!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT!!

Lainey Simanek ❤️

Lainey is majoring in Communications and will be working at PepsiCo FritoLay as a District Sales Manager next year!

Her favorite Theta memory: “Living in the house and forming friendships with my best friends. I would do anything to go back two years just to relive all of the fun, laughs, and memories that were made at 611!”. In her free time, she loves watching fun series on TV, playing with her dog Hamilton, and spending time with her friends and family.

On-campus, she was also a Communication Ambassador for her major as well as a teaching intern for a professor where she taught and created lecture materials for a class. She was also our 2018 online social media director and did an absolutely incredible job!

Lainey will be graduating in the top 3% of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and is recognized on the Bronze Tablet for the college. Recently she was also awarded the Wayland Maxfield Parrish Award for the highest GPA of her major's graduating class!

Congratulations, Lainey! You and your kind heart are amazing and we can’t wait to see what your future holds!

We did it!🌟 Not only did we meet our goal to raise $2.4k to support two foster children for a year with CASA services, but we raised more than enough for THREE! Huge thank you to everyone who shared the message and donated. During these hard times, it's amazing to see what we can accomplish working together. Protecting the vulnerable through CASA is our national philanthropy, but the funds from our chapter always go directly to Champaign County CASA. Impacting our own community is even more rewarding. We encourage all who can to also take action in their community in any way big or small ❤️TLAM

⚡️⚡️ALERT FLASH FUNDRAISER ⚡️⚡️
Starting now (Saturday 24th, 10am) for the next 24 hours we have set the goal to raise 2.4k for Champaign County CASA! Please take the time to support the most vulnerable during these unpredictable times. With this money, we would be able to support two foster children for an entire year! These CASA volunteers need our support now more than ever in taking care of the abused and neglected children. ANY amount helps. Click the link below to donate ❤️ https://my.crowdchange.co/v0p3dy
