The Hellenic American Student Organization will be a student led organization that will target students with Hellenic descent, as well as those simply interested in learning and participating in Greek culture. The organization will hold weekly/bi-weekly meetings to; discuss current events occuring in Greece and how and if they have an effect on our lives, communicate with the community to find pos
sible philanthropic work to give back and/or help the community of Champaign-Urbana, plan events that would be put on as a show for the community as well as being a fundraiser for the club or a charity, and discuss possible involvment with the National Hellenic Student Association. In addition to fundraising, giving back the community, and performing, this organization could be a key aspect in maturing students both socially and academically because one would be surrounded by several other students who have gone through the same experiences and the same classes.This group would target all student/faculty with Hellenic descent as well as those simply interested in Greek culture. In conclusion, the basis of this organization would be to give back the community as well as enrich the Hellenic spirit here on campus at The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
