Illinois Alpha Delta Phi Alumni This is the alumni page for the Illinois Chapter of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

In February 1903, twelve men at the University of Illinois organized a local fraternity which took the name of Pi Theta. The organization's prime objective was to secure a charter to become a Chapter of Alpha Delta Phi. Upon organization, the group rented a house in which the members lived and had their meals together. By 1906, the group continued to grow and it commanded the respect of a very con

siderable number of the Chapters of Alpha Delta Phi. In 1911, the Charter was granted and the Illinois Chapter was installed at the University Club in Chicago, Illinois on January 13, 1912. The Chapter eventually outgrew several small rented houses in the Champaign area and commissioned the beautiful and imposing house it now occupies on the site of the home of the University's first president. Despite formidable competition from over 50 national and international fraternities at the University, the Illinois Chapter is among the leaders on the Champaign-Urbana campus. Among other accomplishments, Dad's Day, known as parent's Day at some schools, and a major football weekend at Illinois, originated with this Chapter.

The newly formed Alumni Board Philanthropy Committee, of Bob McMurray '85 and Mason Kaiser '22, have selected their first charitable alliance in support of our new philanthropy service mission: The Alliance for the Great Lakes.

To that end, Bob and Mason have created an AGL "Beach Clean-Up" team for a May 9th service project to collect trash off a Chicago beach. We will be hosting the beach cleanup day Saturday, May 9th at North Ave Beach in downtown Chicago starting at 11am CST. We will meet at Ranalli’s in Lincoln Park that morning and reconvene after for lunch.
