"Education is not always a straight path. For me, earning my degree was a goal that remained close to my heart for many years. Many years ago, I made a promise to my mother that one day I would earn my college degree. Life, career, and family responsibilities took priority, and while the goal never disappeared, the timing was never quite right. After building a successful career in banking and leadership over nearly three decades, I realized that if I was going to fulfill that promise, the time was now. As a Vice President, Financial Center Manager at Bank of America, balancing a demanding career, family commitments, and coursework was not easy. There were long days, late nights, and plenty of moments when I questioned whether I could manage it all. However, every class brought new knowledge, new perspectives, and renewed confidence that I was moving closer to a goal that had been years in the making.
The University of Arizona Global Campus provided the flexibility and support I needed as a working professional. The online learning environment allowed me to continue advancing my career while pursuing my education. The faculty, curriculum, and structure of the program challenged me to think differently, strengthen my leadership skills, and apply what I learned directly to my professional life. I proudly graduated with a BA in Organizational Management and earned Summa Cum Laude honors. Walking across that stage was about more than receiving a diploma, it was about honoring a promise, demonstrating perseverance, and proving that it is never too late to achieve a goal.
I am incredibly grateful to my family, friends, colleagues, and mentors who encouraged me throughout this journey. Their support made all the difference. I am also thankful to Bank of America for investing in employee development through its Corporate Tuition Assistance Program, which helped make this achievement possible. My journey is proof that no matter how long a dream has been waiting, it is never out of reach. Whether you are just starting your educational journey or returning to finish what you began years ago, believe in yourself, stay committed, and keep moving forward. The finish line is worth it. Today, I am proud to be a graduate of the University of Arizona Global Campus, and even more proud that I kept a promise that meant so much to my mother and to me."
