UNC Center for Galapagos Studies seeks to integrate research, education, and outreach through a seamless transition between the classroom, field, lab and community, relying on our unique research-facility located on San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos Archipelago. The Galapagos Science Center, jointly administered by UNC’s Center for Galapagos Studies and the Universidad San Francisco de Quito,
is the only institution of its kind in the Galapagos and serves as a model of international cooperation in higher education. This 20,000 square foot research facility a unique opportunity to enrich our understanding of coupled human-natural systems in a world-renowned National Park, Marine Reserve, and World Heritage Site.
