UNC MEITE

UNC MEITE We prepare leaders who produce, utilize, and analyze educational innovations for the social good.

The Master of Arts in Educational Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship (MEITE) is offered in collaboration with Kenan-Flagler Business School, the School of Information and Library Science and the Department of Computer Science. MEITE works in partnership to evolve the next generation of educational innovators, technologists and entrepreneurs. Students will learn how to design and build the

learning environments of the future, invent new educational technologies, new curricula and organizational forms. Graduate student studies are customized among three areas: learning sciences, edtech, and business. Students also serve in a year-long internship, and learn to prototype, develop business plans and pitch their ideas.

Last week, four of our AWESOME students travelled to San Diego for the ASU + GSV Conference🤩

While there, they learned from edtech industry leaders and had the extraordinary opportunity to network with professionals and other graduate students. 🌐

They even met up with MEITE alum Ogugua Nwaezeigwe who pitched her AMAZING startup, Thingmabob, Inc., and took home $50,000! 🏆

Congratulations to OG, and shoutout to our former and current students, Kaitlyn Barker, Matthew Zuniga, Ruka Osoba, and Rich Gilliam for representing our program so well! 🐏🩵

Recapping one final 2025 milestone before we kick off our next semester: The MEITE Internship Digital Poster Presentations! 🚀

To close out last semester, students participated in a digital poster session to showcase their internship journeys and present their work to peers, internship supervisors, and friends. It was a chance to celebrate our students’ hard work while outlining their visions for 2026.✨

We are so proud of the innovation and leadership displayed by this cohort.

Spring 2026, here we come! 📚
