Big wins across our clinics and lab ✨

The Grad and Pros clinics are now equipped with Picasso soft tissue lasers, enhancing precision, efficiency, and patient comfort. Plus, the CDI Lab is upgrading digital workflows with a new PM7 milling machine, supporting advanced fabrication and hands-on learning.

A University of North Carolina Adams School of Dentistry Workshop

Preparing dental students for independent practice requires more than completing procedures. It requires confidence, judgment, and readiness to be trusted with patient care. Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) provide a powerful structure for making that readiness visible, measurable, and actionable in dental education.

This interactive workshop is designed specifically for faculty and educational leaders interested in strengthening how clinical competence is taught, assessed, and advanced over time. Participants will explore how an entrustment framework using EPAs can be used to support developmental progression, guide instructional design, and inform entrustment decisions in pre-doctoral education.

Space is limited — registration is open until May 15th, 2026!

🚨 Big news!

Professor Heidi McNeilly has been selected as a Faculty Fellow for Generative AI in Clinical Education. Her work focuses on helping faculty integrate GenAI into clinical teaching in thoughtful, ethical, and practical ways.

From building a clinical education chatbot to evaluating platforms like Microsoft Copilot, MarvinAI, and PromptLab, Heidi is helping grow UNC’s capacity for safe and effective AI use in health professions education.
