Welcome Weekend events are designed to welcome first year, transfer and returning students back to for the start of another exciting school year!

Welcome Weekend 2021 will feature 5-fun-filled days of games, activities, food, prizes, and T-shirt giveaways!

WAY TO GO PANTHERS!! On the very first day of our challenge we covered nearly 260 miles! That is the equivalent of going from Old Main to the OG Burger King in Mattoon and back nearly 12 times!!! Keep up the great work! It's not too late to join us! Registration is open through May 6th!

Today is the day our Mile a Day, from 6 feet away Virtual Marathon begins! Registration is still open through Wednesday, May 6th. Your goal will be to cover 26.2 miles between April 29- May 29, 2020. The first 100 EIU students and staff who register for the event AND cover the 26.2 miles will get a free participation shirt! Community members are welcome to join in on the fun!

On Tuesday, April 21st from 4:00 to 5:00 Eastern Illinois University’s Civic Engagement & Volunteerism office is pairing with Embarrass River Basin Agency and the Citizens Utility Board to offer a presentation on the future of energy generation. They will look at how the electricity grid has evolved; what is required of the future grid, and how consumers can interact with their utilities, and adapt their consumption behaviors to facilitate change.
