We have some amazing students. Below is a message we received this morning.

“Good morning all!

I wanted to reach out to you all to share a "day brightener" moment with you all regarding 2 of your GWHS/Carver carpentry students, Nate Nantell and Griffin Keffer.

Becca Engels and I advise the student council at John Adams Middle School. Through a couple conversations with our group, they voted to build a Gaga Ball pit for the backyard here at JAMS. Gaga ball is a fun game that a lot of kids love to play at summer camps, schools, etc. but the pit that it is played in is a pretty large wooden structure. Our students were pumped when we voted to build one. The problem is, Becca and I aren't great with power tools, and we work with middle schoolers who we don’t fully trust with power tools!

Mr. Moyers mentioned asking students at GWHS/Carver to help out. Through a couple emails with Mr. Buzelli at Carver, we got in touch with Nate Nantell (a junior at GWHS/Carver and former JAMS student) and Griffin Keffer (a sophomore at GWHS/Carver). They graciously agreed to build this Gaga ball pit for us.

On Monday morning, Memorial Day, they showed up with a fabulous attitude, a full set of Milwaukee drills, a truck, and a prayer and they built this gaga ball pit like they've made a million before. (They are obviously great carpenters - all they had ahead of time was a rough set of instructions and a "hey do you think you could build this for us?" from our end :))

They spent a couple hours getting this structure built and it is perfect! We can't thank them enough and we wanted to share because they worked so hard and kindly gave up their time to make it happen. They are rockstars!”

Sincerely,
Ellie Nuzum

Our High School Dental Assisting students recently had the opportunity to take a field trip to Joy Dental Lab! 🦷✨

Students were able to get a behind-the-scenes look at the dental laboratory process and learn how dental prosthetics and appliances are created. Experiences like this help connect classroom learning to real-world careers and give students valuable insight into the many opportunities within the dental field.

A huge thank you to the team at Joy Dental Lab for welcoming our students and sharing their knowledge and expertise!
