✨Senior Sunday✨
This Sunday we want to take a second to recognize our last senior Mataya Petrea!
pledge class: spring 25
What degree are you leaving EIU with and what are your plans after graduation: Mataya will be leaving EIU with a bachelor’s degree in English Language Arts Education. She plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction while teaching near Chicago.
Even though Mataya has not been with us long, she has made a huge impact on campus. Her campus involvement has been: President of Lawson Hall Panther Leads, Vice President of the Golden Apple Organization, Treasurer for Sigma Tau Delta (English Honors Society), Freshman Connection mentor, Teacher’s Assistant for University Foundations
Favorite memory: “My favorite memory is Kappa Delta was when I got my big and was welcomed into the best family tree!”
What Kappa Delta has done for you: “Kappa Delta has provided me with a puzzle piece that I didn’t even know was missing from my life. Being a KD is a reminder of lifelong friendship and sisterhood, and I am so thankful to have made these connections. ”
Mataya, although our time was short we are grateful that we get to call you our sister. You are a bright shining light and definitely were what this chapter needed! You did so much within a short period of time and we are so proud of the women you have became! Your sisters always have your back and just know you always have a home here at EIU. AOT💚🗡️
