Eastern Illinois University’s Health and Counseling Services, in Charleston, IL, is seeking
candidates for the position of Clinical Counselor.
The Clinical Counselor’s primary responsibilities include: Providing individual, group, & couples
counseling; providing risk assessment & crisis intervention services for students; providing
consultation services to students, faculty, staff, & others as needed; providing clinical
supervision of graduate students; serving a liaison to a specific student group and/or university
office, and providing leadership of the planning of an annual su***de prevention conference.
This position reports to the Assistant Director, Health and Counseling Services – Counseling
Clinic.
Position requirements include: Master's degree in relevant discipline (counseling, psychology,
social work) from a regionally accredited institution of higher ed.; minimal Licensed Professional
Counselor (LPC) license required - Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed
Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure or equivalent preferred; ability to facilitate effective
relationships & to communicate with a wide higher education constituency; demonstrated commitment
to diversity and experience with promoting inclusive excellence is required. It is preferred that
applicants have experience delivering counseling in higher education settings.
