College of Charleston Opera

CofC Opera promotes, educates, and entertains audiences at the College of Charleston. In the Spring term, a full mainstage production is presented.

College of Charleston Opera presents award-winning student singers in several theatrical productions throughout the year. In the Fall semester, evenings of operatic and musical theatre scenes are presented; these scenes help our singers grow in stagecraft experience. The CofC Opera students also create a Children's Opera based on popular operatic tunes. This performance is toured throughout local

elementary schools to bring music to children. Saundra Deathos-Meers is the Director of College of Charleston Opera; Amanda Castellone is the Assistant Director. Lorna Barker assists at the piano.
