This is the official page of the Virginia Tech Alumni Charleston Chapter We bring local Hokies together through social, networking, and volunteer events.

The Charleston Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association serves alumni and adopted Hokies throughout the Lowcountry! There are no fees to join! If you're a VT Alumni in the Charleston area, you are already a member!

From social events, to family outings and community service projects, we have something for everyone! With so many members, we strive to provide an array of activities, events,

and community service/volunteer opportunities in order to interest everyone. Upcoming events and details are available on our email list, website, Facebook, and Twitter. Our alumni live in Charleston, Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, Summerville, Johns Island, Goose Creek, Hanahan, Daniel Island, Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, Ladson, Moncks Corner, Hollywood and Wadmalaw Island.

Hokies Night at Mainland Container, presenting one of our very own from !! Let’s all get together as we kick off the summer with some great music and great company! Show starts at 6:30pm – come grab a seat early, bring some friends, and order up some food and drinks for a good time 🎶

Hey Hokies, we took another look at the forecast for tomorrow morning and unfortunately we are making the call to postpone this weekend’s clean up. Be on the lookout for a new date to be released in the near future!

We are ONE WEEK away from our next Adopt-A-Highway cleanup!! Join us for a morning on Middle Street to help keep our adopted stretch of our community clean. We will be meeting at at 9:30am on Saturday, May 9th 🍻🚮

Come early to grab your bags, gloves and trash pickers! We’ll keep the good vibes going at Dunleavy’s afterwards, don’t forget they are CASH ONLY!

2026 Run in Remembrance🧡 On Thursday, the Charleston Hokies gathered at The Brick for our local 3.2 to honor the 32 Hokies we tragically lost on April 16th, 2007.

Beginning with a moment of silence, we read each of the names out loud and listened to Nikki Giovanni’s memorable speech which ends with the phrase “We will prevail. We are Virginia Tech”. Bibs were worn by our participants to represent all 32 students and professors.

We are grateful for our Hokie community, and we will neVer forgeT🤍

We are so proud of this group of Hokies for showing up ready to work on a Saturday morning! 🙌 This morning we teamed up with at their Veteran Cottage build site for our Big Event. We put Ut Prosim to the test and prevailed!

Join us for our annual 3.2 for 32 Run in Remembrance as we come together to honor and remember the 32 Hokies lost on April 16. This meaningful tradition is a time for reflection, community, and support.

We will gather at The Brick on Thursday, April 16th before setting out on a 3.2-mile run/walk through downtown Charleston. All paces are welcome, and family and friends are encouraged to join us.
