Dr. Neuroth’s PHED 303: Adapted Physical Activity class recently welcomed Mrs. Jenna Brown, Director of Development at MUSC for the Departments of Surgery, Orthopaedics, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Emergency Medicine.
Mrs. Brown shared her daughter Harper’s powerful story, offering students meaningful insight into Spina Bifida, the importance of inclusion, and best practices in adapted physical activity and physical education. Through her lived experience, students gained a deeper understanding of how inclusive, person-centered approaches can positively impact individuals and families.
The class was grateful for Mrs. Brown’s time, openness, and dedication to advocacy and education.

Thank you Dr. Neuroth for teaching real world issues and solutions.

The Citadel Distinguished Scholars Program (DSP) is a prestigious program for top tier students. Each sophomore year, 10 students are selected and mentored until they graduate.
This year, three Exercise Science students are graduating from the program. They presented their research orally at the DSP presentation showcase.
We are so, so proud of our three students who are all pursuing a health career. Congratulations!
