Last month, several PAS students headed to New Orleans for AAPA 2026 (American Academy of Physician Associates)—the largest gathering of PAs in the country!

From hands-on clinical workshops and main stage sessions to networking with peers across the nation, they fully immersed themselves in the profession—while also bringing the energy to the Challenge Bowl and taking home a win at AMBOSS Trivia Night. 🎉

A special congratulations to Yazmine Latimore, who was recognized as the Prentiss L. Harrison PA Scholarship Award recipient during the conference.

Beyond the sessions, they explored New Orleans together—capping off a week defined by growth, connection, and shared experiences. Well done, ! 👏

We’re continuing our celebration of 30 years of MUSC’s Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) program, and today we’re shining the spotlight on Dr. Adrienne T. Brown — a global health leader whose work has spanned more than 20 countries. 🌎

A 2014 graduate, Dr. Adrienne has built a career across federal service, global NGOs, academia, hospital leadership, and the private sector. While completing her DHA, she also participated in the CDC Public Health Informatics Fellowship Program, with early work in Haiti and India and later HIV-focused service in Malawi.

Reflecting on her DHA experience, Dr. Adrienne shared:
"My time at the College of Health Professions was transformative and continues to shape both my work and my sense of legacy as one of the few doctoral-trained individuals in my family. I'm grateful to be part of this legacy and thankful for the foundation MUSC provided."

Dr. Adrienne also completed her DHA while expecting her first child, making this milestone anniversary especially meaningful to reflect on.

Through her work across healthcare, academia, and global health, Dr. Adrienne demonstrates the far-reaching influence of the DHA program at MUSC.

Before AI can transform healthcare, we need to address the foundation it’s built on: the data itself.

In this recent piece, Dr. Kevin Wiley explores why data quality, transparency, and governance are essential to responsible AI in healthcare — and how MUSC’s Master of Science in Health Informatics (MSHI) program prepares future leaders to navigate that complexity.

Leading the life she was meant to lead.

Kenya Raybon, OTD, is stepping into her career as an occupational therapist after a journey shaped by motherhood, education, and a commitment to others.

Drawing on years of experience in education, early intervention, and parenting, each chapter brought her closer to OT—and to MUSC’s Occupational Therapy Doctorate program.

At MUSC, she balanced coursework with advocacy on Capitol Hill, leadership in the CARES Therapy Clinic, LEND scholarship work, and a capstone project focused on improving cognition and participation in older adults with dementia. Through it all, she brought perspective, persistence, and purpose.

Now a graduate of the program, she leaves with a doctorate—and a career grounded in impact and a clear vision for the communities she will serve.
