Students are cordially invite your students to attend NBLSA’s National Convention/ National Pre-Law Symposium on Saturday, March 9, 2024, in Houston, Texas at the Omni Houston Hotel. Students that attend an HBCU, registration is FREE! We ask that you share this information with the students at your university.

NBLSA is the largest student-run 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in the country. Our association currently has over 7,000 student members from over 200 ABA-accredited law schools. As a non-profit corporation, NBLSA is funded solely through membership and sponsorship. Because of this, the ongoing support from university and college administration to our members and chapters is absolutely critical to our success.

The Symposium is designed for Black students interested in learning what it takes to succeed in law school and the legal profession. The Symposium will feature a law school fair, networking opportunities with law students and lawyers, two $5000 scholarship awards, and multiple LSAT-related classes that can significantly improve their chances to succeed in the law school admissions process.

For free registration, your students can use the code HBCUFREE under the HBCU Pre-Law Students registration tab. Your students can click on https://nationalblsa.wildapricot.org/event-5472813 to learn more about registration and to reserve their hotel rooms. When less than five percent of lawyers are Black, it is imperative that members of our communities do their part in uplifting these bright, capable students. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Tyler Parker directly at [email protected].

Please share this flyer with students announcing an opportunity to participate in the Department of Labor (DOL) Student Volunteer Program that will afford them an opportunity to support DOL's mission in Summer 2024.

The 10-week career-exploration program (June 10 - August 16, 2024) offers a unique platform for students to learn about DOL and apply their academic knowledge and experiences to in-person, real-world scenarios through student trainee positions.

Workshops will be conducted to provide students with information related to DOL student volunteer opportunities, how to write a Federal resume, and share insights on various Federal civil service careers.

This is a limited opportunity, so we encourage your students to register to attend an upcoming workshop as soon as possible.

Otherwise, students interested in applying directly to the announcement can do so by applying online, via usajobs.gov USAJOBS - Job Announcement.

Please contact the Student Programs Office at [email protected] if you have any questions.
