Something fun for Alumni.
King Family has 1st Wednesdays during the summertime. Tomorrow is the start of the season. They stay open until 8:30, you can bring your own dinner, and enjoy some great King Family wine. They are kid friendly with lots of space for the kids to roam while you catch up with old friends.

Just a reminder. We have an alumni meeting this coming Monday the 15th. Unfortunately we still do not have a way to conference out of town alumni yet.
It seems that we are in the home stretch for becoming an AIG. We need to get a strategic plan together. Nataki offered this link, http://alumni.virginia.edu/connect/alumni-interest-groups/ as a reference. Look at the AIG's on the right hand column. The key is we have to have a dynamic plan on how to raise money and also what we would like to use the funds for. For those of you that would like to offer suggestions but are unable to make it to Zehmer Hall, conference room A at 6:00 p.m. please feel free to post on this wall.

From the Cavalier Countdown Tailgate to Young Alumni Reunion, Homecomings is a not-to-miss weekend! Join us on October 13th and cheer on the Hoos to victory over Maryland!

Remember Katherine Buzzoni? Her roll at UVa has recently changed and she wanted all BIS alumni to know they can still be connected and take course at the University this year. Here is her email...

I know how much BIS alumni enjoy staying connected and intellectually engaged and wondered if you might be in a position to help raise awareness among the BIS alumni crowd that these courses are out there for them to enjoy. Most courses run for 8 weeks and just meet one evening a week for 2 hours. Some are shorter courses that might only be 4-6 weeks. The cost is quite reasonable and the stakes are low – no grades, no worries! The topics include a wide variety including writing workshops, foreign language, history, astronomy, local interest, gardening and landscape and more.

Please help spread the word. Here is a link that will take them to a listing of course descriptions for our fall offerings http://www.scps.virginia.edu/programs/personal-enrichment-classes-fall2012 If anyone has questions or difficulties with the registration process, please feel free to send them my way.

Thank you!

Kathryn

p.s. If students happen to be benefits-eligible UVA employees, they can use their Education Benefits to cover the cost of up to 2 Personal Enrichment courses each fall and spring semester. Learning is even MORE fun when it’s free!
