The Law Vets are a student organization at the University of Virginia School of Law consisting of current military service members, veterans, military dependents, prospective JAG officers, and non-military affiliated students who support the Law Vets' mission. We have service members and veterans from a wide array of military specialities including special forces, submarine operations, linguistics
, military intelligence, infantry, air defense, JAG, and many more. We host fundraisers for various veteran oriented charities throughout the year and partner with other student organizations to hold presentations regarding military and veterans legal issues. We also have designated pro bono representatives who assist veterans with legal issues, usually involving disputing disability claims with the VA. Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization which is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organization’s contracts, acts or omissions.
