Interested in learning more about Judaism with Jewish students throughout the greater Boston area? Need a little spending money on the side? Apply for the Fall 2022 cohort of the Jewish Learning Fellowship with Hillel Council of New England! Upon completion, students will receive a $200 stipend.

Regular class sessions will be held once a week virtually on Zoom on Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30 pm EST starting Sept. 21st. Below please find a description as well and information about the JLF program, which will be taught by Springboard Jewish Education Specialist & Emerson/Suffolk Hillel Advisor, Rachel Sturges. Curriculum: Life's Big Questions:
College is not only a time to meet new people or to learn the skills of a profession. It is also a time to explore some of the big questions that orient a life well-lived. Who am I? What communities am I a part of? Who am I responsible for and why? What is the difference between love, lust, and intimacy? What is worth committing myself to and why? While these are universal questions, we believe they can be illuminated through the unique light of Jewish texts and traditions. In this class we will explore the big questions of life as refracted through the Jewish tradition.

Don't miss the boat! We're inviting YOU, first-year Jewish students, to join us on our very first duck boat tour through Boston on the afternoon of Sunday, September 18th. We'll meet up at the Prudential Center (53 Huntington Avenue), right off of the Copley T-stop, at 1:30pm to get everyone all checked in before our 2pm Duck Boat Tour, which is estimated to last around 80 minutes and show us a great tour of Boston by land and by sea!

You'll see soon enough how glad you'll be that Boston is your backyard for the next four years during your time at college and you'll meet students from all our campuses who would love to explore with you! Sign up quick using the link below the boat fills up!

Please note that registration for other Boston-area campuses other than Emerson, Suffolk, Simmons, Lesley and Boston College and registration for all class-years will open one week to the event if the boat is not already full by then.

Today we're kicking off Hillel Global Giving Week! Every dollar raised between today and Friday, May 13 will be matched 2:1, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000 dollars, with a cumulative goal of raising $18,000. This week, we’ll be sharing some of our favorite moments and stories from this year on our social media. To begin, this year we had 28 students across our campuses participate in our Jewish Learning Fellowship. Sindey Cohen, Boston College ‘24, says about her experience that “JLF was a safe, loving, and friendly space for me to engage with my unexplored Jewish heritage. Being able to learn in such an open and flexible environment with a great group and with great leadership gave me everything I could have wanted and more.” We’re so energized by how inspiring this cohort experience can be and look forward to welcoming our Fall Cohort.
