Boston College Emergency Management

Boston College Emergency Management We work to ensure the most effective preparedness and response for the protection of BC students, faculty, staff, and visitors in an emergency situation.

This page provides emergency preparedness information, connects users directly to the Office of Emergency Management staff, and is a secondary source for emergency alert information for members of the Boston College community. The Boston College Office of Emergency Management is committed to administering a comprehensive preparedness and emergency management program encompassing the University com

munity. While damage and destruction cannot be prevented during an emergency, the Office of Emergency Management incorporates and coordinates all of the resources, facilities, and personnel of Boston College into an efficient organization capable of responding to any emergency. We encourage all BC students, faculty, and staff to continue their ongoing efforts in emergency preparedness to enhance the University's capability to respond to and recover from emergency situations.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the greater Boston area from 5pm Thursday through 12 noon on Friday for mixed precipitation of snow, sleet and ice.  Snow/sleet totals of 1-2 inches and up to 1/10th inch of ice are expected. 🧊❄️

Precipitation expected to begin Thursday afternoon but transition to sleet/freezing rain/snow from 5pm until mid morning on Friday.  Temperatures near freezing the entire time so precipitation that falls will likely freeze on untreated surfaces.  Driving and walking conditions are expected to become very slippery later Thursday evening through Friday morning.  Please allow plenty of time to reach your destination, slow down and use caution if traveling.🚨🦺
