๐ Welcome to the Ag & Equine Team, Megan Barton! ๐ฑ๐
Megan is originally from Ramona, California, near San Diego. She began her college journey studying agriculture right here at LCCC before transferring to the University of Wyoming, where she earned her B.S. in Secondary Agricultural Education with a minor in Animal Science. She is currently working toward her Masterโs in Curriculum and Instruction.
Megan brings several years of agricultural education experience to LCCC, including two years teaching agriculture at Natrona County High School and four years teaching agriculture at the middle school level in Cheyenne. She has also served as an FFA advisor and loves creating hands-on learning experiences that help agriculture come to life for students.
At LCCC, Megan will be leading our Emerging Agriculture Technology program, and she is especially excited to give students hands-on experience with technologies they may use throughout their future careers.
โThere is so much changing in agriculture right now, and Iโm excited to help students be part of that change.โ
Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and their three kids, being around livestock, getting outdoors, and tackling a new project whenever she gets the chance.
Coming back to LCCC is also a full-circle moment for Megan. As a former student, she knows firsthand how one opportunity can shape an entire career path.
Her advice to students? Get involved, try new things, and donโt feel like you have to have your entire future figured out. Some of the best opportunities can come from simply being willing to say yes.
Weโre excited to welcome Megan back to LCCC and canโt wait to see where she takes the Emerging Agriculture Technology program! ๐๐
