Our band director, Professor Roxanne Stevenson!
Today we are highlighting CSU Band Director, Roxanne Stevenson, for our at series. Roxanne has been leading the CSU band for over 28 years and is also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. She has led the band to perform in many shows such as the Mid-West Jazz Festival, The Jazz Education Network Concert Series, Hyde Park Jazz Festival, and Jazzapalooza. In 2015, she was a GRAMMY quarter finalist for the Music Educator Award. She recently was a panelist with the Women Band Directors Association discussing perspectives of black women band directors and she was a guest presenter at the “Women in Music Seminar”, sponsored by UAPB KKY TBS Regional Alumni Association.
