DCC at DePaul University

DCC at DePaul University The DCC fosters connections between exceptional filmmakers, promotes innovative educational programs The DCC is not exclusive.

While there are many motivated and interested students who currently attend DePaul's School of Cinematic Arts, there are few who have exhibited a combination of exceptional talent and ambition. The DCC is an outlet for these students to make the most of their filmmaking education. Any talented, motivated and/or assertive students will be accepted, but it is geared towards students who have exhibit

ed the aforementioned attributes as well as a strong desire to succeed in the entertainment industry. The DCC is open to DePaul SCA students of all ages (graduate and undergraduate alike) who've shown great skill, desire and/or commitment to produce exceptional work. The skill sets of said students range from writers, to cinematographers, animators, directors, producers, etc. The two unifying factors are a shared level of excellence/commitment to succeed, and the fact that they are current (or former) DePaul students.

SURPRISE! We know that the pandemic has been tough on everyone's creativity, and wanted to bring people together for a break during the mayhem of finals week!

The DCC board is launching it's first quarterly film fest: DePaul Shorts. This is an event to showcase projects that you have already created! Get excited! We want YOU to show off work you’re proud of to your peers, family + friends. Anyone will be allowed to tune in!

DePaul Shorts was created to bring creatives together, which is why all work submitted will be accepted! And to make things a bit more fun, laurels will be awarded to winning films for a selection of Audience Voted Awards!

Submit here:
https://filmfreeway.com/DePaulShorts

The Details:
- This festival is open for current SCA students to submit through FilmFreeway
- Submissions will be accepted until 11:59pm CST on Sunday, November 15th
- The event will be held virtually on Saturday, November 21st, time TBA

- Projects may not exceed 5 minutes in length (including titles + credits)
- You MUST be the director or producer of the project in order to submit a short
- Only ONE submission per creator

DePaul Shorts is intended to be a quarterly event! If You have work over 5 minutes, your time will come, and if you're itching to submit additional projects, stay tuned for the next event!

Awards:
Laurels will be awarded by popular audience vote. Voting will take place during the event via google forms. Categories to be announced at a later date. Neither the DCC nor the SCA Faculty have any influence as to what films will be awarded recognition.

Follow us on Facebook + Insta for updates on the event link and time!

Don't sweat this submission, just throw in something you're proud of!
We're excited to celebrate your work!

Stay safe,
The DCC Board

Hi everyone, we wanted to let you know on an update. We had posted about our letter to the University about tuition and what we demanded as students because of the events of COVID-19. The University substantially didn’t do anything to help even when we stated our concerns and needs especially putting our own dollars into Depaul. We wanted to let you read into the response we got and what we wanted to say. Let us know what you think and we will have this in our bio. Thanks again for supporting!

Members of the DePaul Cinema Collaborative, I have been asked to respond to your recent letter expressing concerns regarding access to filmmaking equipment and requesting a tuition reduction for the 2020-21 academic year. Know that your faculty and everyone at DePaul are dedicated to doing ev...
