Meet our in-house Masterchef and cool girl Abby! 👩‍🍳❣️She’s a second year from NYC studying Business Econ and Psych, and she loves cooking, baking, and skiing! On campus, Abby is involved with AKPsi, Campus Catalyst, and TAMID consulting. She also does psych research, volunteers at JumpStart, and is Phi Chi’s assistant VP of chapter development! Abby is a ray of sunshine, the best person to try new restaurants with, and if you can’t already tell, our favorite human ever 💛💛

A special spotlight for a superstar Phi Chi alum — Ashley is a former VP of Communications at AOII and the person we all want to be one day 😌🦋 After graduating with a degree in Economics in 2017, Ashley started at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) working on a variety of projects in different industries and functions. She later pivoted to the beauty industry at Estee Lauder Companies (ELC) in their Global Transformation Office, becoming Chief of Staff and working across seven strategic initiatives, including sustainability and supply chain efficiency‼️ Now, Ashley is the Managing Director at GreenTree Hospitality Group (GHG) where she oversees the US operations and growth after the brand’s successful launch in Asia Pacific. GreenTree provides hotel owners the knowledge, tools, and support to succeed in an ever changing, globalized market, and has now become the 13th largest hotel company worldwide with more than 5,000 hotels. 💫💫

My fellow AOIIs were my role models, as I saw them constantly strive for excellence and achievement through hard work in their academics and extracurriculars. Meet Esha, a 2nd year Art History and Business Econ major from the Bay Area! She’s the assistant creative director for MODA, a reporter for the Maroon, and a Bite Magazine writer. If you can’t tell already, she’s also our style icon 💃 Esha hopes to work as an art consultant or curator one day, bridging her interests in contemporary art and economics! She also loves horror movies, soul cycle, and peanut butter sandwiches 💫💐😋

“As a transfer student, I think I’m most grateful that I’ve finally finding a such a supportive group of people I’m really excited to get to know and spend time with. I started to get more involved in AOII by joining the membership selection committee; during formal recruitment, I was able to meet so many of my sisters and it’s just made me more excited for what’s to come.” Esha, you’re incredible — we are the ones who are grateful!! 🤗🤗

To kick off our New Member Spotlights, we’re so excited to introduce Elena, a 1st year Public Policy and Anthropology major with a Quantitative Social Analysis minor from Athens, Georgia! 💐

Elena is involved on campus as a member of W+, an organization for women and gender minorities in public service, a part of the Women’s Ultimate Frisbee team, as well as a Voting Ambassador for UChiVotes!

With the Election coming up next week, we asked Elena to share her voting story: “I vote for all of my black and brown, q***r and trans, disabled and uninsured, immigrant and low income friends and fellow citizens. Growing up in Georgia, I saw first-hand how harmful voter suppression can be, so I vote for all the people in our country who have been disenfranchised. I am so excited to be voting in my first-ever election, and I hope all of my sisters and peers will join me in casting their ballots by Nov. 3!” ❤️❤️
