Commencement week might be behind us, but we are shining a well-deserved spotlight on our incredible graduate students! 🎓✨

We were so proud to watch over 170 graduates cross the stage to receive their master's degrees, including 77 outstanding individuals who earned distinction honors. The School of Nursing and Health Sciences was the most popular program, with 68 students graduating, including two who received their doctoral degrees! 🩺

Balancing career, life, and advanced academics is no small feat. Congratulations once again to all of our master's and doctoral graduates. Your dedication inspires us all!

Many of our alumni have gone to positively affect the world, but there is no greater example of that than giving back to your community. 🤝💙

Our graduates have fostered connections with students by mentoring them throughout their careers or by creating opportunities for them to get jobs after graduation.

Tom Bagley BA ’74 is a prime example of an alum who has given back to his community. Not only did he create an information session for business students in a conference room in Chicago to give them a feel of the real world, but he also hired various NPU graduates, knowing that our students are equipped with a good work ethic and moral compass.

Leading a life of significance and service? Shyamkumar (Shyam) Mishra BS ’26 did exactly that. 🌟

Throughout his four years at North Park, Shyam truly made the most of every moment and left a lasting legacy. Driven by a passion to build and strengthen community connections, he served as our Student Government Association president, acting as a vital bridge between students and university administration.

But his impact didn't stop there. Shyam involved himself in every corner of campus life, serving as International Club president, Intercultural Late Night program chair, and a member of the Voyage Activities Board. His passion for service also led him to University Ministries, where he dedicated his Friday nights to the Urban Outreach Street Ministry supporting Chicago’s unhoused population.

To top off an incredible journey, Shyam’s hard work and dedication to our core value of interculturalism were officially recognized at this year’s NPU Day of Excellence, where he was honored with the Diversity Award! 🏆🌎

Last month was one for the history books! 🌊

For the first time in over 14 years, University Ministries hosted baptisms right here at North Park! We were overjoyed to witness Jeremiah Arnold and De'ajah Morris declare their commitment to follow Jesus.

De'ajah, alongside 3 other senior students, Wrigley Crabtree, Maddy Vander Ploeg, and Abi Sensmeier, also shared powerful testimonies on how they connected with God during their time at NPU and how UMin served as a vital resource in nurturing that connection. Chapel concluded with Pastor Terence praying for all of our graduating seniors.

This is a chapel service we’ll carry in our hearts for a long time. 🤍

On Saturday, we celebrated our annual spring Commencement. Approximately 343 undergraduate students graduated. Some of them being the first in their families to earn a bachelor's degree.

North Park University alumnus Daniel Warren Johnson BA ’09 has reached superstar comic artist status! 🦸💫

The Hollywood Reporter highlighted Johnson for his outstanding work in writing and drawing the annual edition of DC Comics’ Absolute Batman, which has sold more than 150,000 copies. His work led to him being recognized as one of the most popular artists in the current comic book world.

To celebrate North Park’s annual day of giving, about 30 alumni gathered at Tre Kronor, a beloved institution, to mingle and discuss the special day, which raised nearly $200,000 this year!

A famous spotlight moment for our Vikings this week! 🏈 ⭐️

North Park University’s flag football team was recently featured on NBC Chicago. The segment highlighted the sport's growth in the Chicago area following its NCAA recognition this spring. Our Vikings also recorded their first win in North Park’s flag football history on Wednesday, defeating Benedictine University 34-0.

North Park has been building bridges of opportunity for our students by forming academic alliances with other institutions across Illinois.

Through Northwestern University, two NPU molecular biology and biotechnology majors can intern at Northwestern’s Center for Synthetic Biology. Roosevelt University has also made it possible for first-year North Park students to earn a Bachelor in Arts in Biochemistry and a Doctor of Pharmacy in six years, rather than seven.

Not only are other schools providing pathways for North Park students, but North Park has also been paving the way for others.

In an agreement with Illinois College, North Park guarantees admission each academic year to two Illinois College graduates into its Master of Science in Athletic Training program. North Park is also partnering with local community colleges, such as Triton College, the College of DuPage, and the College of Lake County, to guarantee its students transfer admission to North Park.

North Park University continues to provide unique opportunities for students by receiving accreditation from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs for its Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program!
