Thank you to all the mentees and families for joining us in Chinatown for our third event of the quarter!

For our last event this year, we had a fun dumpling-making session, tasted a variety of delicious Chinese dishes, and had the chance to learn a Chinese song in honor of Mother's Day!

It has been an amazing year for UChicago China Care! We’ve covered a wide range of topics from learning about Chinese cities in the mentorship group to learning about trending Chinese mobile apps in the leadership group. We also had tons of fun from trying out calligraphy to engaging in skits and debates.

China Care would like to thank our co-presidents Scarla and Wonna, our mentors, mentees, and families. Thank you for all your trust, support, and understanding!

We look forward to covering more interesting topics and engaging in fun activities in the future! We hope you all have a wonderful summer, and we hope to see everyone join us again in the fall for another year of awesomeness!

Thank you to everyone who came to our first event this quarter! Hope you guys all enjoyed the lovely weather!

For the leadership group:
- we learned about the ethnic minority groups in China including the Hui, the Miao, the Tujia, and the Mongols
- ate dumplings and lamb skewers
- played games in the nice weather (:

For the mentorship group:
- we learned about the history behind Mulan
- did calligraphy
- watched Mulan movie clips
- performed a skit about Mulan
- played Bingo
- ate Chinese snacks

- Panda conservation debate
- Making panda masks
- Learn Chinese characters

Thanks for coming out to our second event of the quarter!

For leadership group, we covered the contemporary Chinese internet/social media scene:
-Memes and internet slangs
-Chinese beauty standards and photo editing app MeiTu
-Dubsmash app Xiao Ka Xiu
-WeChat & Weibo
-Useful characters

For mentorship group, we focused on the city of Shanghai:
-Characters and poems about Shanghai
-Fun facts, international events, tourist attractions and food of Shanghai
-Outdoor activities

Thanks to everyone for coming out to our first event this quarter! We had great fun celebrating the Chinese New Year with all of you.

Today we organized a joint event with both mentorship and leadership group and we --
-Learned about superstitions and festival traditions in China
-Performed a skit that explains how Chinese zodiac came to be
-Watched clips from the Spring Festival Gala
-Tasted dumplings, fried rice, twice-cooked pork, and sweets
-Learned traditional spring festival song "Gong Xi Gong Xi"
-Practiced how to wish someone a happy new year and get red pocket
-Made and cooked dumplings

Hope you enjoyed today's event and looking forward to seeing you all next time!
