From students to age-friendly healthcare leaders, five CSU students alongside two University of Chicago students, successfully completed the Interprofessional Age-Friendly Leadership Academy (IPAFLA)!

Through a seven-week summer internship at University of Chicago Medicine, the cohort gained hands-on experience in geriatric care, shadowed healthcare professionals across disciplines and earned certification in University of Chicago Medicine's Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP).

IPAFLA, funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA, ARD 105223), is a collaborative program under the leadership of Dr. Stephanie Zuba-Bates of CSU’s College of Health Sciences & Pharmacy and the University of Chicago Medicine's Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program, preparing the next generation of leaders in age-friendly healthcare.

This morning, CSU kicked off our partnership with Crowe LLP (Crowe)— and they showed up big, gifting 168 move-in kits to CSU students living at our downtown residence hall.
