It took a couple of passes to get this space in order.

What you see in these photos are the items, what isn’t visible are the memories and emotions that are hidden among them.

For our clients, decisions on what stays and what leaves are oftentimes emotional and challenging.

Winter in the Midwest and other places around the nation has been intense this year.

Just last week parts of Illinois experienced violent tornadic activity, along with severe thunderstorms and hailstorms.

Flooding and an EF-3 tornado have devastated many of our local communities this year.

Today, it’s blizzard like wintry conditions in the Chicagoland area.

Make sure your home and family are prepared.

Here are three simple things to implement today into your emergency preparedness plans:

1. Invest in a *fireproof, waterproof documents bag with a strap to hold the most important pieces of paper like property deeds, auto titles, passports, vital records, social security cards, vaccination records, mortgage and insurance paperwork.

2. Vehicles are gassed up at all times and prepped with emergency kits (think snacks, blankets, first aid items, jumper cables, fix-a-flat, ice scraper, feet and hand warmers)

3. A grab and go zone near your most likely exit of the home includes items like coats, appropriate seasonal shoes and accessories, along with a stocked bag of needs for your kids and/or pets.
