Join the School of Audio and Music as we celebrate our graduating seniors and all the creativity, rhythm, and dedication they have poured into their time at Columbia.
Music majors will be celebrated on Friday, May 8 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the 1014 Lobby, and audio majors will be celebrated on Friday, May 15, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the 33 E. Ida B. Wells Lobby - all majors are welcome to attend either or both celebrations!

The School of Audio and Music is excited to amplify our support for Joe Cerqua, Creative Director and Producer, Stu Greenspan, Adjunct Professor, and Wilfredo Rivera, Musical Theatre Program Coordinator, as they join the acclaimed Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre for its Columbia Dance Center debut.

On February 19th students across Columbia College Chicago attended internationally recognized artist Luis Salgado's Masterclass and brought storytelling to life through movement, musicality, and ensemble work.

Luis Salgado, known for his work on Broadway in In the Heights and On Your Feet! and for his global company Salgado Productions.

The house was pulsing with rhythm, energy, and hands-on experience that inspired skillful musicianship and artistic creation.

The De Aquí: Sound Art Contest invites Columbia College Chicago students to tell their origin story through sound. How do you remember the place you come from? What does it sound like?

The six best pieces will be played on WCRX with recorded commentary by the creators, and winners will receive $50 gift cards. Selected works will also be showcased in a public listening event.

Deadline: February 16, 2026
Length: 5–10 minutes
Eligibility: CCC students only

These four Columbia College Chicago bands tore it up last Friday at the 1st Annual CCC Battle of the Bands at Reggies Rock Club! What an amazing show, with a great turnout, and great mutual support and respect! Congrats to Clean Break for taking top prize, and kudos to Sangram, Versus Vitality, and Claim Ursa - you all rocked the house with diverse styles and unique voices - in true CCC fashion! Special shoutouts to the opening power trio from Jones College Prep, the Raspberry Jams; judges Avery Heeringa (Off the Record Press), Kady Roberts (WBEZ), and Yuri Lysoivanov (Shure); coordinator/ organizer/ promoter/ career-internship-maestro-extraordinaire Tom Joyce; and organizers Owen Schoenfeld (talent buyer, Reggies) and Ben Sutherland (director, School of Audio and Music).
