Sno' Cones 🍧 in the Park hosted by Native Sons.

Native Sons is a community-centered approach to uplifting and enriching children offering them positive, powerful & healthy alternatives. Native Sons leaders partner with elementary schools in Rogers Park to offer comprehensive youth programming and activities. Their goal is to properly guide children to success and out of cycles of poverty, crime, and self-destruction by stimulating self-awareness, self-esteem, and positive leadership skills.

You can support Native Sons by buying a frozen treat! Native Sons sells sno cones and other food items every Tue and Wed (weather permitting) from 4 - 8 p.m. at Willye B White Park, 1610 W. Howard St.

Recent funds have been used to hire a choreographer and rent space for a dance team!

49th Ward, Alderwoman Maria Hadden invites everyone to their Community Softball Game! 🥎

Fri, July 21st from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Willye B White Park, 1610 W. Howard St.

Join them for their second 16" softball game. No registration required. This is a free community event open to all ages. Just bring yourself, your family or a friend. Not sure if you want to play? Come out to cheer on your neighbors! 🎉

Our first Community Softball game at Willye B White Park was a blast! We had a great time warming up and playing a few innings. My team took a loss today with Team Kool RP beating us 7-5 over 4 innings. I was pretty impressed by all the hidden talent 🥎 And thanks to our District Council Commissioners and 24th District CPD Commander Brennan and his team for coming out to support the events.

Stories of Rogers Park

Do you have a story to tell? Join Goodman Theatre for a FREE intergenerational storytelling workshop.

Sat, Sep 25th from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Willye B White Park.

This workshop - part of the Goodman's InterGens: In Community programming - is intended for Rogers Park neighbors who are fourteen and older, including high school students, working artists, and community elders.

During the workshop participants of all ages will share stories, build original pieces of theatre and learn more about the Goodman’s in-person fall programming in Rogers Park.

Please Note: In accordance with Be Safe Chicago Guidelines for Parks and Recreation Activities, participants in this activity will be required to wear a mask and practice social distancing at all times while participating. Individuals who are feeling sick and/or exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to stay home.
