During Fisk reunions we return to a familiar and magical place that we love. A place that shaped us tremendously and is responsible for us being men and women who will make significant contributions in every corner of the world. A special place that will forever live in our hearts.

We get pulled in various directions with our busy reunion schedules. While speaking with, hugging or meeting a Fiskite and their loved ones, we often look over a shoulder and see another Fiskite who we want to embrace also, however, we might not see them again for the remainder of the weekend. Every moment is special and simultaneously fleeting but not lost on us.

While Homecoming is just as exciting, reunion is the moment designated to taking care of business.

As members of the Chicago Area Fisk University Alumni Association (CAFUAA), we are always in the mindset of taking care of Fisk business. In doing so, we have to recognize the pioneers of our chapter who laid the foundation and groundwork and showed us how to keep our eyes on the reason why we started and do this work, which is for the education of young black students at Fisk University. To our CAFUAA pioneers, we stand on your shoulders and we thank you!!

We are extremely proud of our chapter and the donation of $100,000 that we made during the Fisk University Reunion 2026 Alumni Gala.

Dr. Claudia Fegan ‘78 (seated center) spoke with Chicago Area Fisk Alumni, in person and on Zoom at our last meeting. She shared information about Healthcare in the U.S. and abroad and armed us with invaluable information in general. Specific details were provided to assist us with making decisions about our individual health plans as well as communicating on subject with our public officials.
