Supported Mindful Learning (SMiLe) is an intervention for students who are feeling sad, down, or distressed. The program entails 8 weeks of using Headspace, an online/mobile application delivering brief, guided, themed mindfulness activities, and connecting with a small peer group (“face-to-face” on Zoom, and online through a hidden Facebook group) to give and receive encouragement and support. To see if you are eligible, please take this quick screening: https://luc.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bq2LK5Oh14FsVKe
This program will start soon: Participants will attend a 2-hour orientation in mid February. To understand how the program optimally benefits students, participants will complete surveys approximately once per month, and be compensated with gift cards (e.g., Amazon) and/or research credits for relevant courses (PSYC 100 or 101).
Please see the attached flyer for more information, and contact the Loyola SMiLe Project at [email protected], or 773-508-3020 (leave a message), to inquire.
