Jules F. Knapp Entrepreneurship center at Illinois Tech Announces Semi-Finalists for 2017 Chicago Innovation Challenge
Illinois Institute of Technology, a premier, global, technology-focused university located in Chicago, announces fifteen Semi-finalists that will advance to the next and Final stage of its 2017 Chicago Innovation Challenge (CIC).
The CIC sponsored by the Jules Knapp Entrepreneurship center, The Folgeson Family Foundation, the Coleman Foundation and M-Hub has 3 categories– (1) Currently enrolled IIT students, (2) Currently enrolled students in colleges and universities with a physical presence in Chicago, and (3) Currently enrolled Chicago Public high school students.

This year's Chicago Innovation Challenge, went "live," today. Three groups of students are eligible to enter:

Who's eligible:*
As more specifically detailed in the Official Rules, individuals from each of the three categories listed below are eligible to participant in the Contest. Participants will only compete against others in their particular category.
1) Currently enrolled Illinois Tech students
2) Currently enrolled students enrolled in a college or university with a physical presence in Chicago
3) Currently enrolled high school students attending any Chicago Public School, Chicago Charter School or Chicago Selective School

Below is the link to enter the competition too. Students have to register and create an account, but then they can login and pick-up where they left off on their application.

It's incredibly easy to enter the first round. University of Chicago's Fall classes start the latest this year, but first round is easy to enter and students can enter until 11:59pm on October 1, 2017!

To enter, students need to:
1. Describe the problem to be solved, 2. Describe the big idea to solve this problem and 3. Attach a simple drawing/sketch of the idea for a product, or attach a mock-up wire frame of the interface that is inter-active, or a minimal viable product (MVP) of the user interface for apps or apps that control a product.
