Illustration Student Group

Illustration Student Group ISG is the student-run portion of Columbia College Chicago's Illustration department, a community th

Illustration Student Group (ISG), as the student organizational branch of Columbia College’s Illustration Program will serve as a place where presently enrolled students and alumni of the college across all majors can gather and work together on topics of Illustration outside of the classroom. This includes promoting professional practice amongst students, creating a space for student networking,

and creating a space where students can expand upon their personal and class based work. The goal of this club, ultimately, is to have an extra-curricular environment to aid students in realizing their full potential as working professionals in an Illustrative capacity, while simultaneously excelling in their role as student. The Illustration Student group works in affiliation with Columbia College Chicago, and IC3.

Hi ISG family,

We hope you had a restful Thanksgiving break. Unfortunately, the E-Board has decided to cancel our Holiday Art Sale due to several reasons. The primary reason was how we got very few submissions in comparison to the year before. Additionally, we’ve been hearing that everyone has been stressed because of finals and final projects which most likely deterred people from submitting and potentially volunteering. We completely understand-- and we figured that by canceling our Holiday Art Sale this year, we would be able to put our attention energy to other activities and how we can improve our art sales for the next semester and the next school year.

In lieu of our art sale, we will be able to have one more meeting on Tuesday, December 3rd, and Tuesday, December 10th will be our last meeting.
Please stay warm, drink some hot chocolate or tea, and if you have any questions please feel free to reach out!

All the best,
ISG

On behalf of the entire ISG E-Board, we would like to extend our warmest thanks and so much gratitude to all the people and organizations that helped us put INK Fest Chicago together.

Thank you, first, to Student Organization Council and Steph Villanova for guiding us in the planning of this event from start to finish. Your advice and support was incredibly valuable to us, and we learned a lot! We’d also like to thank Lauren Napolitano who helped us secure the venue, along with sourcing all of the tables that filled the space!

Additionally, we’re super thankful for Coalition of Female Creatives and Animation Association for helping us co-host the event. We look forward to collaborating with you both further into the future! We’d like to also throw in a special thanks to Stone Creek Coffee for providing us with yummy snacks and plenty of delicious caffeine for both days.

We’re grateful to our supporting design team, Peaches Kruekuenpet, Megan Rivera, and Julia Zeler for helping create incredible graphics on our social channels! Big thanks also to our Illustration faculty for supporting us during this entire endeavor and helping us to promote the event, and also to our guest speakers, many of whom are Illustration alumni, for sharing your stories and experiences! Special thanks goes to John Hendrix for once again visiting our campus and sharing your wisdom and insight into the Illustration industry.

Last but not least, we’d like to sincerely thank all of our artists and volunteers for truly being the stars of our event. Without you, this obviously could not have been possible!

See you next year!

Spooky greetings ISG people! Next week is our Halloween Art Sale and we are looking for volunteers to help us work the tables. We especially need your help this year because ISG is participating in Wicked Week on Tuesday, Oct. 29! If you've never worked at our sales before, they are a great way to showcase student work, and fundraise for both the artists and ISG. If you have any free time and want to help out, please comment on this post with your availability! Please consider that we don't like to have more than four people at most sitting at the table at once, so if you see that a time is already fairly full please try to sign up for a time with less people.
*A small reminder that if you are an artist with things in the sale, you are required to volunteer for at least one hour!
