TOMORROW! our own dr. andrew miller breaks down how three of history's most iconic figures shaped the way we think about masculinity today. vikings, witches, and knights. each one a myth, each one a mirror. and the real story behind all three is way more interesting than anything you learned in school.

here's how the night goes: andrew kicks things off with a lecture, then opens it up for q&a, and then you break into small groups to keep the conversation going over drinks. it's part class, part dialogue, part really good night out.

come solo or bring a friend. either way you're leaving with something to think about. visit letsdofunthings.org for tickets!

The Department of History at the University of Illinois Chicago requests attendance at The Richard Pipes Memorial Conference: The State of the Russian History Field, to be held on the UIC campus next month on April 16–17, 2026.

This conference will bring together leading scholars of Russian history to discuss some of the most pressing and innovative directions in the field. We believe it will be of strong interest to faculty, graduate students, and advanced undergraduates working in Russian, East European, and Eurasian studies.

The event is open to all interested attendees; however, registration is required due to limited space at the venue.
