Hi guys!
It was great seeing everyone at the first meeting, but here is a quick recap for those who couldn't make it. Our genre this month is mystery fiction, thus our book will be *Murder on the Rue Morgue* by Edgar Allen Poe. Also, the short stories we will read for anyone wanting more reading will be the Sherlock Holmes short stories. You can access the books via the library, used book stores, or by using the overdrive app. The app allows you to connect to any library that you currently have a library card at and get an electronic version of the book that you want. In addition to
choosing books we ran through some of the ideas that we have planned for the semester. Specifically, we talked about the book crawl. The book crawl will be an event where groups of us will travel to various used book stores along the Red Line. It's kinda like a bar crawl, but with books (Im super
proud of us for being so witty).
We also have a board position available
for anyone interested. We need a representative on our Book Club board. In essence, the representative is the face of our organization to CAN. They will go to the CAN meetings and then report back to the president of the club. Those interested will have a 10-15 minute period at the beginning of the next meeting (Tuesday September 29th) to present themselves to the club
and then we will all vote upon who the next representative will be. If you have any questions don't hesitate to email us!
Can't wait to see you guys next meeting to discuss the book!
*P.S.* For those wondering if they can still participate even though they didn’t show up, of course you can!
Sincerely,
Raj S. Patel
