On Monday, Jordan T. Kemp presented "Spatial Relativity: How Local Selection Shapes Urban Growth Across Scales."

This talk explored the loss of local correlations and heterogeneity in spatial aggregation. Kemp utilized Chicago-area data to display this phenomenon.

Kemp will discuss his research in multiscale growth, where he applies concepts from biophysics and population ecology to fully understand how urban environments are changing over time - and how populations adapt in response.

On Monday, Ernst Valery presented "Development Without Displacement." The talk centered on Carehaus, the first intergenerational, care-based co-housing project. The sites emphasize public space and existing community infrastructure. Valery answered questions from care-givers and urban scholars.
