Join online on 10.22 @11:30 am (CST) with Dr. Edward Onaci, author of : THE REPUBLIC OF NEW AFRIKA AND THE PURSUIT OF A BLACK NATION-STATE! () He will be in discussion with Chicago State University Assistant Professor, Dr. Kim Dulaney about a largely unknown, but critical narrative of Black Power politics and liberation movements.

While the struggle to "Free the Land" remains active today, this book is the first to tell the full history of the Republic of New Afrika and the New Afrikan Independence Movement. Discussion will also include why and how (the lack of) primary source materials about Black radical movements in "traditional" cultural memory institutions play a role in not only suppressing these important narratives, but can also limit our understanding of American history.

Edward Onaci is Associate Professor of History at Ursinus College.
